How to Create and Employ Positive Affirmations for Entrepreneurs

Many business owners and entrepreneurs experience occasional impostor syndrome—the feeling of being a fraud. When these doubts strike, we have two options: meditate on them or flush them out. Daily repeating of positive business affirmations is an effective way to eliminate negative thoughts and replace them with encouraging ones.

How Do You Flush Out Negative Thoughts?

When I started my coaching practice, I needed to gain skills and experience in personal selling. Daily affirmations helped me gain the confidence I needed to excel. I wrote 6 different positive affirmations for work on an index card, and when I was hiking, working out, or taking a break, I would read over them and say them aloud.

Soon, my confidence grew, and I became an outstanding salesperson and business coach. Repeating a mantra can rewire your brain over time, taking advantage of neuroplasticity to create new pathways and shape a new reality.

10 Daily Affirmations for Entrepreneurs

The best affirmations will be specific to your situation. My affirmation was, “I am a wildly successful salesperson, and I have confidence in my skill to help my prospects and clients.” Yours will depend on your struggles or desired areas for improvement.

First, identify a handful of weaknesses or fears about your work performance. Then, for each one, write an affirmation starting with “I am a ____.” The affirmation should be the opposite of your weakness. For example, if you fear public speaking, an affirmation could be, “I am confident while speaking in public.”

A few of the most common weaknesses in businesspeople are lack of confidence, fear of failure, or panicking under pressure, but everyone has unique obstacles.

Here are 10 examples of daily affirmations for business owners
and entrepreneurs as a starting point. Feel free to add to these until they are tailored to your insecurities.

  1. I am a problem-solver.
  2. I am resilient.
  3. I am focused and alert.
  4. I am getting better every day.
  5. I am a people person.
  6. I can see problems as opportunities.
  7. I am the best person for this job.
  8. I am calm.
  9. I am a strong communicator.
  10. I am exactly where I am supposed to be.

Affirmations only work if you’re diligent about repeating them throughout the day. When you’ve decided on which business affirmations to focus on, write them in places you’re sure to see regularly—on Post-Its around your home or office, on a card you can fit in your wallet, on a note taped to your computer monitor, etc.

By incorporating positive affirmations for work into your daily routine, you can banish negative self-talk and improve your overall mindset. The change won’t be immediate, but the investment is worth the eventual payoff.

We all believe we aren’t worthy, skilled, competent, or experienced enough to push our business to the pinnacle. If you’re doubting your competence like I once did, click here and discuss using affirmations for entrepreneurs to take your business to the next level.
